Accessibility statement (Website)

Doccle BV commits to making these sites accessible, in accordance with the following legislation: Law of 19 July 2018 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

This accessibility statement applies to:

Compliance Status

These websites are not compliant with the requirements. Non-compliances and exemptions are listed below.

Preparing Your Statement

An external accessibility audit was conducted. This audit was an in-depth analysis.

Non-accessible Content

Users navigating with a screen reader on mobile devices (like VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android) cannot use every functionality or encounter navigation blocks. For instance, mobile navigation is currently not accessible and submenus cannot be expanded.

Not every image or icon includes a descriptive text (alt text and/or title).

The text contrast (such as titles and descriptions) on the colored blocks (yellow, blue, green, and orange) does not meet WCAG 2.2 (Level AA) standards.

Videos do not always provide captions, so a transcript is not always available.

On various pages, headings are applied incorrectly, out of order, or non-semantically. This also applies to lists (ol and ul).

Doccy, the chatbot, contains an iframe without a title.

Buttons and links lack accessible names (aria-labels).

The language switch and submenus are not reachable via keyboard navigation.

Many (older) pages use vague link texts like “Read more” or “Click here.”

Proposed Alternatives

Currently, no alternative exists for the inaccessible pages on our website. We are working behind the scenes to improve them both technically and in content so everyone can use them.

Improvement Plan

Together with our development partner (IO), we will implement technical updates over the coming year so that people using a screen reader can fully access the site. This includes enabling submenus and navigation, adding aria-labels, options for blocks and UI components such as buttons, allowing content editors to set labels, converting non-semantic code to proper formats (like ul and ol for lists), titles for integrations (including the chatbot Doccy), unique IDs for landmarks, and color updates to meet contrast ratios.

Our content editors will provide suitable alt texts for all images, icons, and illustrations (or skip non-essential visuals for screen readers). Transcriptions and subtitles will be added to videos. They will also review each page for correct heading use and replace vague link texts like ‘Click here’ with clear labels indicating what to expect.

Due to limited availability of accessibility specialists, some changes may take several months. We are doing everything we can to improve this gradually. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to people with disabilities.
